Edition:
2020

Heat resistance tester for patent leather.
The modified lastometer method is intended to assess the heat resistance of patent leathers.
During the test a circular specimen of the material is clamped round its edge and then gradually distended by forcing a small metal ball attached to a plunger through the specimen. After distended by 7,5 mm and before next step, a visual examination is made and any signs of damage recorded. As last step, a hot blower, which air has a pre-set level of temperature (100 or 125 ºC) is positioned over the sample during a pre-set time (180 or 300 s). After elapsed time and with the sample still distended, another visual examination is performed and any signs of damage recorded.
